Relationship With God

Any relationship that is built without maintenance will collapse on the alter of neglect. There is a great need to maintain that relationship that you have established with the father. This is the reason why most Christians backslide along the way when the journey becomes tough. Men of God fell from grace to grass when they fail to maintain what has been handed over to them and consequently the church. Even in the circular world, maintenance is a very important key to a sustainable development of any state. Roads are built and maintained likewise cars, structures and bridges else it can fail permanently or even disastrously before it exceeds it lifespan. Men like Abraham, Jacob, David to mention but a few recognized the need to maintain their relationships with God. They serviced their alters always and that’s why they were able to achieve feats in their lifetime. They kept the faith and never wavered. Building a relationship with God is not as hard as maintaining it. This is where the problem lies in the Christendom. You can decide to give your life to Christ today and maintain it for a while, but what about when the days begin to grow into months and years, will you still be found in the fold? Because temptations will come, storms and tempests will rise, winds of life will blow, foregone habits will hunt you, friends will mock you and rejection from loved ones, will you still be there? Will you be proud to still confess Jesus before men? Will you still clutch to that word (bible) in the midst of mocking friends? What about your faith and trust in Him? You need the grace of God in your life to be able to maintain all these. Every time you pray, ask God to give you the grace to stand even in the midst of storms. The grace to keep the faith and the grace to make heaven which is the ultimate.

These are some of the important steps that will help you maintain your relationship with god.

1. Prayer and Fasting : These are two powerful weapons in the hands of every believer. Fasting is a spiritual exercise that helps you subdue the flesh so that your spirit can rise. It enhances your spiritual antenna and reposition it for revelation. This must go hand in hand with prayer otherwise it is called starvation.

2. Seeds and Sacrifices: A day will come that you sacrifice will determine your remembrance. Men are not remembered for what they received but what they sacrificed. David said I will not offer to my God that which will cost me nothing. Build your alter on seeds and sacrifices and it will invoke more grace into you and stand for you in your moments of weakness.

3. Convenant : This is a force that connects anyone that entered it with the Master. Its just between you and your God which can transcend to your generations if properly maintained. Enter in to a convenant with God and He will fight for you but never you break it.

4. Praying in the Holy Ghost : Apostle Paul said that he that speaketh in an unknown tongue edifieth himself. You build a wall of fire around you when you speak in tongues for long. It is very important that you receive the baptism of the holy ghost after you become born again.

5. Holiness : God can only behold you when you are holy. Avoid things that will cause you your salvation and create an enemity between you and God. Guard your thoughts jealously not to wander off into iniquity.

6. Preach the Gospel : You have been converted, convert others, spread the news and bring men unto repentance and into the fold.

7. Word : Immerse yourself in the word, submerge yourself in the word, eat the word, live in the word, stand in the word, dream in the word and above all pray in the word.
